At TEDx Maastricht, Simon Sinek wows the audience with his simple, yet amazingly powerful talk titled, “First why then trust.” How we build trust has been on the minds of many a great man and woman for eons and he breaks it down in such a simple way that one cannot leave feeling enlightened to some degree.
How we build trust is more than just being friendly, or charming! A key component, as Sinek shares is that trust is a uniquely human experience, and comes from human contact. It is not built from want, or over the internet, or through some video conference; trust is built with a handshake, with a connection and that connection is becoming weaker and weaker as people allow technology to become more dominate in our lives. So, after watching this talk, take a moment and go shake someone’s hand. Make physical human contact, share an experience and build trust.
